Food Inquiry - 2014

A Look Back
I thought I would share with you some of our previous inquires. Our school is in it's third year of the Full Day Kindergarten Program and reflecting on our beliefs and practices is an integral part of our day. We encourage our students to think about their learning and we also do the same as educators. Our documentation certainly has developed over the past three years as we have become more confident in the way we document. Pedigogical documentation has enriched our program in more ways than I could ever have imagined. By making the children's learning visible to them we have celebrated not just the end product of the learning, but the process itself. Through our shared learning sessions the children have taken ownership over their learning by presenting their ideas and findings to the class. During shared learning they also respond to questioning by the other children which allows them to consider other's opinions and perhaps formulate new ideas based on our discussions. The children are excited to see their work whether on the Learning Wall or our documentation boards.
